Tecun Uman Guatemala Roast
We dedicated this coffee to Tecun Uman one of the last rulers of the K'iche' Maya people, in the Highlands of what is now Guatemala.
According to the Kaqchikel annals, he was slain by Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado while waging battle against the Spanish and their allies on the approach to Quetzaltenango.
These beans are from the Antigua coffee region one of the better known in Guatemala thanks to both the quality and quantity the region puts out. Nestled in the valley of 3 volcanos, it sits over 1,500 meters above sea level and has ideal coffee growing conditions - rich soils, ample rain and sun and relatively consistent temperatures.
Fully washed and sun dried we medium roast with notes of Dark Chocolate, Bright Fruit, and Butterscotch.
