Nestled along Three Mile Course in Guilford, Connecticut, the Medad Stone Tavern stands as a poignant testament to early 19th-century ambition and serendipitous preservation. Constructed in 1803 by Medad Stone a Guilford native born in 1754 who had inherited his father's tavern on the town green and co-owned a stagecoach line hauling public mail the sturdy Dutch Colonial structure was envisioned as a bustling roadside inn for travelers. Stone strategically sited it away from the central green, anticipating a legislative reroute of the vital Boston Post Road that would funnel traffic past his door; he and his partners had even petitioned the Connecticut General Assembly to improve the notoriously rutted thorough fares. Yet, when the road remained unchanged, the tavern never poured its first ale. 
We honor Medad dream of a tavern that never happened with  our Guatemalan Coffee, Aged for 30-days in locally sourced whiskey barrels. The whiskey is long gone but the flavor still around. Medium roast it delivers a brown sugar aroma, vanilla-like flavor, and a caramel finish that can turn your day around!
